Get to know us

We are situated in beautiful North Dundas just outside of Chesterville, Ontario about 45 minutes south of Ottawa, Ontario. We have a 100 acre farm and purchased our first fainting goat, Twilight, from Flevohill Acres as a Father's Day present for my husband in 2011.

Thanks to some excellent breeding choices and the keen eye of Nathalie & Wim Keurentjes-Joly from Flevohill we have been able to acquire some of the oldest and best known blood lines in the Fainting world such as Wells, Coyote Creek, Bending Tree Ranch, Onion Creek Ranch etc.

In October of 2018, I traveled to Austin, Texas for a 4 day course on a working ranch owned by Suzanne Gasparotto and co-hosted with Pat Cotten of Bending Tree Ranch. These two gals are so knowledgeable and have written hundreds of articles. If you ever get a chance to attend this course it is well worth the trip. We maintain a closed herd. Who cares?

We care! What’s a closed herd really mean anyway? There are (3) fatal diseases for goats and there is no real cure, namely CL, CAE & Johnes. The only real solution if you have animals testing positive to any of these problems is euthanasia. For (9) years we tested our herd about every eighteen months but these are very expensive tests. We have decided to stop testing and not bring any additional animals into our herd from other breeders, or another way to put this “maintain a closed herd” thereby never risking disease entering the herd from outside the farm. We will also be asking you to wear protective foot covers when visiting our farm to help reduce the risk of disease.
